Sudan: TSC President Meets Delegation of the General Union of the Nuba

What the report says
Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council President and armed forces chief, Gen. Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, met with a delegation from the General Union of the Nuba, according to the Sudan News Agency report distributed by AllAfrica. The group was led by Mohamed Abu Anga Abu Ras. The meeting was reported in Khartoum and centered on the Union’s message of congratulations for the 72nd anniversary of Armed Forces Day.
The delegation also offered condolences for those killed, wished recovery for the wounded, and expressed hope for the return of missing people. Its leader voiced support for the Sudanese Armed Forces and described that backing as part of the “Battle for Dignity,” a term used by the source to refer to the current conflict environment in Sudan.
According to the report, the Union presented a draft for its general founding conference and outlined community programs intended to improve ties with different groups in Sudan. It said these initiatives aim to counter hate speech, encourage peace efforts, and strengthen national cohesion. The delegation also said it plans to take part in Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue and to support security, stability and unity in Kordofan. In broader context, such meetings often signal attempts by civic or regional groups to maintain political ties and advocate for reconciliation amid Sudan’s ongoing instability.
