What the report says

Dabanga, via AllAfrica, reports that violence and security restrictions continued across parts of Sudan on Wednesday, with separate incidents affecting North Darfur, Blue Nile and South Darfur. In North Darfur’s Furawiya area, a drone strike killed two people and injured eight others, according to the Karnoi Emergency Room. The report said the attack burned two vehicles and damaged three more south of a market, while telecommunications outages and limited satellite internet access made coordination difficult for local volunteers.

In Blue Nile, the Sudanese Red Crescent Society said volunteer Badr El Din Omar Musa was killed while carrying out humanitarian duties in the Umm Darfa area. The group said he was working with emergency teams at a health centre when bombardment hit the area. The society said his death brought the number of Red Crescent volunteers killed since the war began in April 2023 to 25, and urged respect for humanitarian workers and medical sites.

The same report also said civil society groups in Blue Nile alleged that three residents of El Roseires locality were detained and taken to an undisclosed location. In South Darfur, the local civil administration issued a three-month emergency order restricting weapons at markets and gatherings, banning celebratory gunfire and curbing speech and publications seen as fueling hatred or racism. The measures, which authorities said could be renewed, were presented as part of efforts to improve security and reduce communal tensions amid ongoing conflict.
