Steel & Tube wins two awards at Uganda International Trade Fair

What the report says
Steel & Tube Industries Ltd has been recognised at the 32nd Uganda International Trade Fair (UGITF) 2026 in Kampala, according to The Independent Uganda. The company received two honours from the Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA): Best Sector Exhibitor in Building, Construction and Housing Technology, and an Appreciation Award for its in-kind partnership with the organisers.
The report says the exhibitor award reflected Steel & Tube’s participation in the building and construction category, while the appreciation award acknowledged support provided to the annual trade fair. The event is described as a 10-day exhibition that brings together manufacturers, traders, service providers and buyers to display products and pursue commercial links.
Regina Namuwonge, the company’s director of operations, said Steel & Tube focused on affordable products for customers during the fair. She also thanked the institutions, agencies, partners and sponsors involved in staging the event. The company in turn expressed appreciation to UMA, customers, partners and staff for the recognition.
The recognition highlights Steel & Tube’s position in Uganda’s construction-related market and the wider role of trade fairs in promoting business networking and industry visibility. Background on trade fairs in general suggests they are often used by companies to build brand presence and attract new customers, though that broader context was not independently reported in this article.
