Ssaabagabo Kabaka’s Representative Urges Residents to Prioritise Development After Elections

What the report says
Banabus Ssenabulya, the Kabaka’s representative in Ssaabagabo Ssekanyonyi Sub-county, has called on residents to put aside political divisions after village elections and turn their attention to community development. Nile Post reports that he made the remarks in Kawaala Village during a ceremony held to celebrate Patrick Lubwama’s win in the village chairperson race.
Ssenabulya urged Buganda Kingdom subjects in the area to remain united and work together on initiatives that can improve livelihoods. He said the election period was over and that residents should avoid letting political disagreements damage relationships or distract from social and economic progress. He also encouraged people to cooperate with local leaders and take part in programmes meant to improve living conditions.
Lubwama, who was being celebrated at the event, thanked residents for electing him and asked them to support him as he takes on leadership duties. He said the community would need collective effort to address local challenges and deliver meaningful development.
The remarks reflect a broader message often heard in local governance and community mobilization: that post-election periods can be used to restore unity and focus on services, livelihoods and long-term progress. In this case, the emphasis was on cooperation between residents and leaders in Kawaala and the wider Ssaabagabo area.
