Spurs' Vicario set to join Juventus on loan

What the report says
Tottenham have accepted a loan bid from Juventus for goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, with the deal including a non-mandatory option to make the move permanent. The 29-year-old Italy international is expected to travel to Turin as he prepares for a return to Serie A, according to BBC Sport Football.
The report says the purchase option is worth £8.6m. Juventus had been trying to strengthen in goal after a move for Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez fell through, with Villa reportedly close to signing Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki. BBC Sport also noted that Martinez is currently unavailable because of a finger injury.
Vicario lost his starting place at Spurs under manager Roberto de Zerbi, who promoted Antonin Kinsky last season. De Zerbi has since confirmed Kinsky will begin the new campaign as first choice, while Martin Dubravka arrived on a free transfer from Burnley in July as further cover. The club’s reshaping has come amid a major summer spending push and several senior departures, loans or releases.
Vicario joined Tottenham from Empoli in 2023 for £17.2m and made 117 appearances for the club. The move matters because it gives Spurs flexibility in a crowded goalkeeping group while offering Juventus an experienced option with international and Premier League experience.
