What the report says

Yahoo Finance reported that SpaceX shares rebounded Tuesday after touching a record low the previous day, even as the company was coming off a successful Starship test flight. The stock, listed as SPCX in the report, fell 4% in early trading before recovering to close 2.6% higher. On Monday it had reached $109.53, its lowest level, and closed at $113.50. Yahoo said the shares are down nearly 30% from a $150 market debut last month and roughly 50% from a $225.64 peak.

The report linked the investor caution to two upcoming events: SpaceX’s second-quarter earnings release, scheduled for Aug. 4, and a share unlock on Aug. 6, when as much as 20% of shares could become eligible for sale under the company’s lockup plan. Yahoo also cited comments from Alex Morris of F/m Investments, who said the stock could move into double digits while still viewing the company’s long-term competitive position as strong.

The market weakness followed Starship’s 13th test flight from Starbase, Texas, on Friday. According to the report, Starship deployed 20 next-generation Starlink V3 satellites, restarted an engine in space and achieved what SpaceX described as its softest ocean splashdown so far. The Super Heavy booster completed separation and a flip maneuver but did not light all 13 engines for its landing burn and hit the Gulf of Mexico harder than planned.

Yahoo said SpaceX is increasingly tying its future to Starship, while Bloomberg has reported reduced availability of some Falcon 9 services beyond 2028. That makes Starship’s reliability and flight-rate ambitions central to how investors assess the company.
