Somalia: UAE, Bahrain Leaders Discuss Economic Cooperation and Regional Stability

What the report says
UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa met in the United Arab Emirates to discuss closer economic and development cooperation, along with regional security issues, according to a report carried by WAM and republished by Horn Diplomat on AllAfrica. King Hamad was on what the report described as a fraternal visit and was received by Sheikh Mohamed after arriving in the UAE on Sunday.
The talks focused on the longstanding relationship between the two Gulf states and ways to expand coordination across multiple sectors. The report said the leaders placed particular emphasis on economic and development initiatives that align with shared priorities and interests, while also reviewing developments in the Middle East and broader efforts to promote stability.
WAM said the two rulers expressed pride in the close ties between their countries and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation at a time of political, economic and security challenges in the region. King Hamad also praised the UAE’s support for Bahrain, saying it had helped the kingdom respond to challenges. Both countries are members of the Gulf Cooperation Council, a six-nation regional bloc that maintains close political, economic and security links. The meeting was attended by senior officials from both sides.
