What the report says

Ugandan media personality Sheilah Gashumba has responded after remarks by NRG Radio presenter Evelyn Mic allegedly spread false claims about her private life. In posts on Snapchat, Gashumba said she was upset by what she described as a day spent dealing with misleading information and said she had been forced to contact media personalities and bloggers to have the material removed.

According to Sqoop Uganda, Gashumba said the situation was especially distressing because she normally avoids publicly correcting stories about herself. She said this was the first time she had personally reached out to ask for a false video or story to be deleted. She also said that even after the original video was taken down, it had already been shared by others online, making it hard to fully stop the spread.

Gashumba further addressed speculation about her relationships, saying she has been in a private relationship for the past year and has chosen not to discuss it publicly to protect it. She urged people to disregard the claims and asked for privacy, saying the rumors had left her hurt.

Sqoop Uganda reported that Gashumba did not name the presenter directly, but the comments followed Evelyn Mic’s on-air remarks. As presented in the article, Evelyn Mic had not publicly responded by the time of publication.
