Uefa has confirmed the seedings and groupings that narrow the possible opponents for several Scottish clubs in the next rounds of European qualifying, giving Heart of Midlothian, Hibernian, Motherwell and Rangers a clearer picture ahead of Monday’s draws. The BBC Sport Football report said the update affects both Europa League and Conference League pathways, with Celtic already aware of their Champions League qualifying options.

For Rangers, the possible route depends on whether they beat Polish side Jagiellonia Białystok in Europa League qualifying. If they progress, they could meet opponents including Lillestrom, the winner of Larne against Iberia 1999, or the loser of certain Champions League ties. If Rangers are defeated, they would drop into Conference League qualifying and face one of several other winners or losers from ties across Europe.

Hearts, who have moved into the Europa League qualifying route after leaving Champions League qualifying, are due to face Benfica. The report says the winner would have a limited set of possible next opponents, while a Hearts defeat would send them into the Conference League play-off round with another, different list of potential rivals. Motherwell are in a similar position if they overcome HJK Helsinki.

Hibs also have their own set of possible opponents if they beat Shkendija of North Macedonia, with the list including clubs from England, France, Ireland, Sweden and Cyprus. The draws matter because they shape travel, scheduling and difficulty levels before the qualifying ties are even completed.
