Saudi-led coalition: 17 killed, over 330 injured in attacks on Riyadh airport since Oct

What the report says
The Saudi-led coalition said attacks on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh have killed 17 people and injured more than 330 others since Oct. 1, with 20 attacks recorded over the two-week period. The claim was reported by Xinhua and published by The Independent Uganda. The statement came as the coalition highlighted what it described as continuing threats from Yemen’s Houthi movement against Saudi Arabia.
Coalition spokesperson Turki Al-Maliki presented the figures at a press conference in Riyadh on Thursday. He also outlined a broader toll from Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia dating back to March 2016, including ballistic missiles, drones, explosive-laden boats and naval mines, according to the report. The coalition said it has recently destroyed a number of Houthi storage sites and that Saudi air defenses have intercepted missiles and drones.
The report said the coalition will keep carrying out operations aimed at limiting Houthi military capabilities and protecting Saudi security, as well as maritime navigation in the southern Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb Strait. Al-Maliki also accused the Houthis of trying to target Mecca and Medina, while the coalition said it intercepted a cruise missile in the Medina region earlier on Thursday.
The Houthis denied launching any attack toward Saudi territory that day, according to the same report. Because the article is based on a coalition statement, the figures and allegations should be viewed in that context.
