Russian strikes kill 6 people in Ukraine, day after shopping complex attack

What the report says
Russian strikes on Ukraine killed at least six people and wounded 26 others, according to Al Jazeera’s report on Saturday, a day after a major attack on a shopping complex in Kryvyi Rih. Ukrainian officials said the overnight and morning attacks hit several regions, including Kyiv, Kherson, Donetsk and Sumy, as rescue work continued at the burned-out Sunny Gallery mall in President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s hometown.
In Kyiv, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said one person died in a warehouse fire in the Darnytskyi district after a ballistic missile attack. Regional officials in Kherson said three people were killed and 13 injured when strikes damaged homes and apartment buildings. In Donetsk, one person was reported dead and seven wounded, including five in Kramatorsk. In Sumy, a drone strike on a house killed one man, with additional injuries reported in separate attacks.
The report also said a Ukrainian drone strike in Russia’s southern Krasnodar region killed two children and injured their parents. That exchange came as authorities in Ukraine were still assessing the toll from Friday’s attack on Kryvyi Rih, where local officials said the death count had risen to 16 and more than 130 people had been wounded, including children.
Al Jazeera said the Kryvyi Rih assault involved two waves, with the second apparently aimed at rescuers. Zelenskyy condemned the strike as barbaric, while the outlet noted that civilian casualties remain high as the wider war continues to hit areas far from the front line.
