What the report says

Wayne Rooney is set to co-host a new Manchester United-focused programme with influencer Mark Goldbridge this season, according to BBC Sport Football. The show, titled Stick to United with Wayne Rooney, will be part of The Overlap network, the media business linked to former Manchester United captain Gary Neville.

BBC Sport said Goldbridge’s YouTube channels were acquired by Neville earlier this year for an undisclosed seven-figure sum, bringing The United Stand and That’s Football into the wider Overlap operation. Goldbridge, whose real name is Brent di Cesare, has a large online following across those channels. Rooney already appears on The Overlap’s Stick to Football and will continue as a pundit on BBC’s Match of the Day.

The new Manchester United show is part of a distribution agreement with Disney+, which will carry 50 episodes of Stick to United and 40 episodes of Stick to Football this season. Neville said the deal broadens the network’s audience while keeping its identity intact, as the company continues to expand beyond football into other sports.

The arrangement highlights the growing overlap between traditional broadcasting, club-specific fan media and streaming platforms. BBC Sport also noted that The Wayne Rooney Show will return to BBC platforms this season.
