Battery Power reported Saturday that Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. may not return to the major league roster until Monday, citing a report from MLB.com’s Mark Bowman. The possible delay follows a weather-related postponement Friday night involving the Gwinnett Stripers, Atlanta’s Triple-A affiliate, where Acuña is rehabbing.

According to the report, Acuña could appear in both of Gwinnett’s games Saturday after the missed opportunity to play Friday. Before the postponement, the expectation had been that he might rejoin Atlanta during the weekend series against the Baltimore Orioles. If the revised timing holds, his activation would instead line him up for the Braves’ next series against the New York Mets.

Battery Power noted that Acuña has appeared in 53 games for Atlanta this season and, before Friday’s games, ranked third on the club in wRC+, a metric that estimates offensive production adjusted for league and ballpark context. He has been on the 10-day injured list since June 10 because of a left hamstring injury.

His return would be significant for a Braves lineup that the outlet described as improved since the All-Star break after a difficult stretch in June and early July.
