'Rangers lead chase for Sturm's Fosso' - gossip

What the report says
BBC Sport Football’s Scottish gossip roundup says Rangers are being linked with a move for Ryan Fosso, the 23-year-old Sturm Graz defensive midfielder and Cameroon international. Citing Sky Sports, the roundup says Rangers are reportedly ahead in the pursuit, while Levante have made an offer to the player’s representatives and Torino are among Italian clubs credited with interest.
The item also points to uncertainty around another Rangers-linked midfielder, Jens Hjerto-Dahl. BBC Sport cites iTromso as reporting that Cardiff City have improved their bid for the 20-year-old Tromso player to £7.8m, made up of £6.2m up front and £1.6m in add-ons, and that he wants more time to weigh his options after previously favouring Rangers. A separate Nordlys report, as carried by the BBC, suggests Cardiff’s offer may be close to acceptable if minor details are adjusted, while Rangers’ interest appears to have eased as they pursue other midfield options.
Elsewhere, the roundup says Rangers manager Derek McInnes believes two additions could be completed before Sunday’s friendly with West Ham United, with another possible before the league opener against Dundee United next Friday. Celtic are linked with left-back options, including AEK Athens’ James Penrice and Dundee United’s Will Ferry, while Daizen Maeda is reported to be set for an Ipswich Town medical ahead of a move from Celtic worth an initial £8m plus £2m in add-ons.
Aberdeen are also said to be interested in Hibernian right-back Chris Cadden. As with most transfer gossip, these reports indicate active market interest rather than completed deals unless otherwise stated.
