What the report says

Queen Birungi Amber Grace spoke to learners at Bright Sparks Junior School in Sseguku Katale during the school’s Prom Party, where she served as guest of honor and delivered a message centered on education, discipline, and responsible decision-making. According to Watchdog Uganda, the youth advocate and former pageant queen encouraged pupils to take school seriously, resist negative peer pressure, and stay away from drug abuse.

She also urged the students to set ambitious goals and pair academic effort with moral responsibility. In her remarks, Birungi linked personal success to broader values such as environmental conservation, family responsibility, and active citizenship, telling learners these qualities matter as they grow into future leaders.

The report says Birungi used the occasion to highlight her wider public work in youth empowerment, sustainable tourism, and social values. She also spoke about her own aspiration to study law at Harvard University, framing it as part of a long-term goal of advocating for people who lack a voice.

Birungi thanked her mother, Dr. Olive Enid Nabiryo, for guiding her path, and praised Bright Sparks Junior School for nurturing disciplined and talented learners. She also noted a family connection to the institution, saying her younger brother Malcolm Crown began his education there.
