What the report says

Eurogamer reports that Bethesda Game Studios chief Todd Howard has become active on Reddit again after roughly six months away, responding to fans after Bethesda outlined more of its plans for Fallout and The Elder Scrolls. The update followed major layoffs across Microsoft’s Xbox division and came alongside Bethesda’s confirmation that its teams will collaborate more closely with other studios on future projects.

According to Eurogamer, Howard used Reddit to acknowledge that Bethesda has often been guarded about what it is making and said the recent information was intended to give fans a clearer sense of work already under way and what is ahead. He described himself as a regular reader of Reddit discussions and encouraged players to continue sharing criticism and suggestions, saying community feedback can influence ideas.

The reported roadmap includes Bethesda Game Studios working with Obsidian Entertainment on a future Fallout project and with ZeniMax Online on continuing Elder Scrolls development. Eurogamer also noted that The Elder Scrolls 6 is Bethesda Game Studios’ next confirmed title, is in full production, and has been described by Bethesda as playable and in good shape, though no firm release details were provided. Fallout 76 is also expected to receive another major expansion and current-generation versions.

The developments matter because Fallout interest has been boosted by Amazon’s television adaptation, while Xbox leadership has signaled a stronger focus on major franchises. Eurogamer cautioned, however, that enthusiasm around the announcements is tempered by the recent job cuts and questions about whether a reduced Xbox organization can deliver on its plans.
