Prince Edward Kijanangoma named new King of Tooro

The new king is identified as the son of the late Prince Christopher Paul Kijanangoma and grandson of the late Omukama George David Rukidi III, placing him within Tooro’s royal lineage.

The selection comes shortly after King Oyo’s death on August 27 at the age of 34, and just ahead of his burial at the Tooro Royal Tombs on Saturday, September 12, according to the report. While the heir has now been named, the article notes that Prince Edward still must undergo the traditional rites required before formal installation as Omukama.
