USA Today reports that the English Premier League plans a U.S. promotional push called “Coast to Coast” during the opening weekend of the 2026-27 season, running Friday, Aug. 21, through Monday, Aug. 24. The league is aiming to build on heightened soccer interest after the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico, with free watch parties and club-focused events organized with NBC.

The activation will feature all 20 Premier League clubs, which USA Today says is a first for the league’s U.S. outreach efforts. Premier League U.S. Managing Director Akash Jain told the publication the league sees the post-World Cup period as a chance to invite new fans to follow its weekly competition. The article notes that 182 Premier League players appeared at the World Cup, the most from any league, and cites the league’s reported global reach of broadcasts in 189 countries and 1.2 billion homes.

Events are being matched with U.S. cities through club ties, ownership links or local themes. Arsenal will be featured in Denver, connected to Kroenke Sports & Entertainment; Liverpool will hold a Boston event near Fenway Park, reflecting Fenway Sports Group ownership; Leeds United will be in San Francisco, tied to 49ers Enterprises; and Coventry City’s Detroit event is linked to both cities’ automotive heritage. Other locations include New York City, Dallas, Chicago, Atlanta, Washington, D.C., Nashville and Austin.

USA Today also reports that musician Ed Sheeran, an Ipswich Town supporter, will be part of the celebrations for his club. The initiative reflects the Premier League’s effort to turn World Cup attention into longer-term U.S. fan engagement through clubs, players, culture and watch-party experiences.
