Pop star Madison Beer and NFL player Justin Herbert announce engagement - BBC

What the report says
BBC News reports that American singer-songwriter Madison Beer and Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert have announced their engagement. The couple shared the news in a joint social media post on Tuesday, accompanied by proposal photos showing Herbert kneeling with a ring box while Beer smiles in front of him. The caption read, “meet my fiancé.”
According to the BBC, Herbert, 28, and Beer, 27, were first publicly seen together in August 2025. Beer was later seen at Chargers games, and the pair have also appeared together at Los Angeles sporting events, including Dodgers and Lakers games. Herbert also appeared in Beer’s music video for “lovergirl” earlier this year, where the two were shown together on a beach.
The announcement drew public congratulations from Herbert’s team and the NFL. The Chargers posted a message referencing the couple’s initials, while the league congratulated them on X. BBC noted that Herbert is expected at Chargers training camp on Wednesday as he begins his seventh season with the franchise.
Beer rose to wider attention as a teenager after Justin Bieber shared a video of her covering Etta James’ “At Last” in 2012. She released her debut single the following year and has since become a two-time Grammy-nominated pop artist. Herbert is one of the NFL’s prominent quarterbacks and remains with the Chargers as they prepare for the coming season.
