Police Hunt Farm Worker Over Hacking of Colleague to Death in Nakaseke

Police in Nakaseke District are searching for a farm worker accused of killing a colleague at Herbert’s Farm in Kikamulo Sub-county, according to Nile Post. Investigators say the incident happened around 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 2, in Magoma Village, where the victim, Emmanuel Ainemukama, was allegedly attacked while preparing herbicide for spraying.

Savannah Regional Police spokesperson ASP Sam Twiineamazima said the suspect, identified as Nicholas Kabandize, allegedly hacked Ainemukama several times before fleeing the scene. Police said a co-worker later found the body and alerted Kiwoko Town Council Police Station, prompting officers to open a suspected murder case. The deceased, about 30 years old, was a farm manager and lived in the same area.

Police recovered the body and took it to Nakaseke General Hospital for postmortem examination. According to the report, investigators found multiple sharp-force injuries, including wounds around the left wrist, and the suspected weapon has not yet been recovered. Police also said early findings suggest Kabandize may have previously threatened the victim, though the case remains under investigation.

The hunt for the suspect continues, and police are urging the public to stay calm and avoid taking the law into their own hands. The case highlights workplace violence concerns in rural farming settings, where workers often live and work closely together.
