What the report says
Gematsu reports that The Pokemon Company, Game Freak and Koei Tecmo have announced an August 5 launch for Pokemon Pokopia’s paid DLC, “Expansion Pass Part 1: Bubbly Basin,” alongside the game’s free version 2.0.0 update. The content is the first installment in a planned three-part expansion pass, with the second part currently scheduled for late 2026. Pokemon Pokopia is available on Switch 2.
According to details shared via The Pokemon Company, Bubbly Basin adds an underwater town where players can farm watermelons with assistance from Pokemon that have the Water specialty. Pokemon with the Generate specialty can be used to operate bubble machines and turn on streetlights. The DLC also introduces additional Pokemon, outfits, smoothies as a prepared food item, and an upgraded version of the Surf move.
The new area expands building options with buoyant blocks, letting players construct underwater structures that float at different heights. Players can also make a Sharpedo submarine room described as having a Secret Base-like feel, and explore a dark deep-sea area by following glowing coral through a hole in the ocean floor.
The free version 2.0.0 update will be available to all Pokemon Pokopia owners on August 5. It adds the ability to learn Dive from Manaphy, after which players can swim with Water-type Pokemon and build underwater. Gematsu also notes that Part 2 of the paid DLC will add Pokemon accessories, more furniture and additional Pokemon, with further information to be announced later.
