PLU Launches Website to Register Candidates and Track Activities

The Patriotic League of Uganda has introduced a new website designed to handle online registration for aspiring candidates and to help the organization monitor its activities nationwide, according to Nile Post. The platform was unveiled at PLU headquarters in Nanguru, with Deputy Speaker of Parliament Thomas Tayebwa attending as chief guest.

PLU said the website is part of a broader move to use digital tools in managing its internal processes and coordinating its work across the country. The organization said prospective candidates will now be required to register online, and that the system is intended to make participation more accessible for members and other applicants.

At the launch, Tayebwa welcomed the initiative and described it as a step toward more modern and inclusive governance. He also said the website would support PLU’s efforts to track its activities in different parts of the country. The event drew PLU members, supporters and journalists, who were shown demonstrations of how the platform works.

More broadly, the launch reflects a growing trend among political and civic organizations in Uganda and elsewhere to adopt digital systems for registration, communication and coordination. In this case, PLU said the website should also improve transparency as the group expands its presence nationally.
