Pixel 11 price hikes look confirmed, as Google exec warns Pixel 10a could be next - Android Authority

What the report says
Android Authority reported that Google’s upcoming Pixel 11 lineup appears set for higher prices, based on earlier retail leaks and a recent interview involving Shakil Barkat, Google’s vice president of Devices and Services. The report says leaked pricing has pointed to a starting price of $899 for the Pixel 11 series, compared with the $799 entry point cited for Pixel 10 devices. Google is expected to introduce the phones at its Made by Google event on August 12.
According to Android Authority, Barkat did not provide exact Pixel 11 prices, but said Google has been under pressure from recent increases in memory costs and indicated that Pixel pricing would be adjusted in response to supply conditions. The article frames those comments as confirmation that the new generation of Pixel phones will be affected by rising component costs.
The report also says the impact may not be limited to unreleased models. Android Authority noted that Barkat referred to current Pixel phones being affected over time, raising the possibility that the Pixel 10a’s $499 base price could change. At the same time, he indicated that Google would continue using trade-in offers, promotions and bundles to support device sales.
The development matters because Pixel phones have often competed partly on value against other premium Android devices and iPhones. Higher RAM and component costs could make that positioning harder, while Google’s work to improve Android memory efficiency may become more important if manufacturers try to control hardware expenses.
