Photos: Thousands march across Europe to demand end to Israel’s war on Gaza

What the report says
Several thousand pro-Palestinian demonstrators marched in European cities on 10 October 2026, with major gatherings reported in London, Berlin, Rome and Warsaw, according to Al Jazeera, AFP and Reuters. The rallies were held to call for an end to Israel’s war on Gaza and to press governments in Europe to stop supporting Israel militarily and politically.
In London, marchers crossed Westminster Bridge and moved toward Downing Street carrying placards and Palestinian flags. Al Jazeera reported that the Palestine Solidarity Campaign helped organise the demonstration, and that its director, Aimee Shalan, linked the protest to the conflict’s third year and urged sanctions on Israel. Police said there were several arrests and that they were enforcing public-order measures, including around face coverings and support for the banned group Palestine Action.
In Berlin, police said about 3,500 people joined a march organised by United for Palestine. Protesters there criticised Germany’s arms exports and long-running military backing for Israel. Similar demonstrations in Rome and Warsaw also denounced the bombardment of Gaza and called for a lasting ceasefire.
The reporting comes amid continuing violence in Gaza despite a ceasefire that Al Jazeera said took effect a year earlier. The article said the conflict has left much of Gaza in ruins and has killed tens of thousands of Palestinians since October 2023, underscoring why the protests remain a major political issue across Europe.
