Patience needed as new boss Reedijk bemoans Hibs 'imprecision'

What the report says
Marink Reedijk’s first match as Hibernian manager ended in a 1-0 defeat away to Dundee United, giving the Dutch coach an early reminder of the challenge he faces at Easter Road. BBC Sport Football reported that Daniel Bennie scored the only goal at Tannadice in the 35th minute, while Hibs finished the game with 10 men after Jacob Devaney was sent off for denying a goalscoring opportunity.
Reedijk, who replaced David Gray last month after previously guiding SK Beveren to an unbeaten second-tier title in Belgium, said he was frustrated for the supporters who travelled from Edinburgh and acknowledged there is “work to do.” He said Hibs were undone by imprecision and indecision in the final third, with the team creating some promising moves but failing to turn them into goals.
The performance suggested that problems from the previous regime have not disappeared, despite Reedijk introducing a different shape and style. Hibs struggled for cutting edge, with the report noting that they have now failed to score in four matches this season. Dundee United also looked dangerous at times and created more clear chances, underlining the gap Reedijk must address.
The defeat left Hibs tenth in the Scottish Premiership. BBC Sport’s coverage said patience may be needed as the squad adapts to a new system, with former Scotland midfielder James McFadden also suggesting that a change in playing style takes time to settle.
