RwandAir said it had cancelled flights because of operational constraints affecting air traffic control services at the airport.

The strike is part of a nationwide go-slow by aviation workers who are seeking improved working conditions and the implementation of an earlier agreement. Union officials said they had taken action because their concerns remained unresolved. Talks between unions and airport managers were due to resume Monday after failing to reach agreement the previous day.

BBC Africa reported that some passengers spent the night waiting in and around check-in areas, with travelers describing long waits and limited updates. The airport handled about nine million passengers last year, underscoring why even a short disruption can have wider effects on regional travel and airline schedules.
