Parliament Sets Busy Agenda as Ministers, MPs Tackle Health Funding, Railway Status

Parliament is scheduled to handle a packed agenda on Wednesday, with MPs set to examine health financing, a tax waiver request, the condition of Uganda Railways Corporation, and a motion tied to President Yoweri Museveni’s State of the Nation Address, according to Nile Post. The sitting is expected to start at 2:00pm and will be chaired by the Speaker.

The main health item involves a statement from the Minister of Health on implementation of the health component under the Uganda Intergovernmental Fiscal Transfers Programme III, or UGIFT III. The programme is aimed at improving health infrastructure at local government level. Parliament has allocated 30 minutes for the statement and debate.
