Parkinson demands response after Wrexham ship costly late goals

What the report says
Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson has urged his team to respond quickly after they lost 2-1 at home to West Bromwich Albion in the Championship. Kieffer Moore put Wrexham ahead with a long-range strike, but Albion turned the match around with two late goals in the final 11 minutes, handing Wrexham a defeat that also ended their bid to record back-to-back home wins for the first time since February.
According to BBC Sport Wales, Parkinson accepted that criticism from supporters and outside observers was likely after the result, but said the squad would need to show resilience. He stressed that the mood at the training ground remained positive and that the focus now was on preparing for Saturday’s home fixture against bottom club Preston North End at the Racecourse.
Parkinson praised Moore’s goal, describing it as the kind of finish that should have come in a winning performance. He also said the striker, who joined Wrexham ahead of the 2025-26 season, had made a strong start to the campaign but needed to be managed carefully after recent heavy involvement. West Brom’s comeback, led by goals from Isaac Price and substitute Aune Heggebo, also gave them their first league win in four matches.
