Pallisa NRM DEC Shortlists Three for District Administrative Secretary Post

What the report says
The Pallisa District National Resistance Movement (NRM) District Executive Committee has narrowed the race for district administrative secretary to three candidates after interviewing 12 applicants, according to Dokolo Post. The shortlist was sent to the NRM Secretariat in Kampala for review before the party’s Central Executive Committee makes the final appointment.
The interviews took place last Wednesday at Kyoga Hotel in Pallisa Town and were led by district NRM chairperson Derrick Orone, who also represents Gogonyo County in Parliament. Orone said the post became vacant after the death of Jane Nangobi in 2025, and that district NRM registrar Sam Emuron has been serving in an acting role since then. The three names forwarded are Emmanuel Oboi, who reportedly scored 84 percent; Emmanuel Olupot, 67.1 percent; and Jackie Asekenye, 58 percent.
Party officials said the aim was to identify the strongest candidates for further scrutiny, while urging unity within the district leadership. NRM publicity secretary David Keddi Apua said the party should handle disagreements internally and focus on its broader interests. DEC vice-chairperson and Pallisa County MP Ibrahim Aisu also called for cohesion and said the next administrator should help unify the party.
Residents who followed the process offered mixed views, with some praising the fairness of the exercise and others backing particular contenders. The report also says the forwarding letter, dated October 22, 2026, was received and stamped by the party secretariat in Kampala.
