What the report says

Crystal Palace have agreed to sign forward Zavier Gozo from Real Salt Lake in a deal BBC Sport says is worth a reported $15m (£11.1m). The 19-year-old has reportedly signed a five-year contract, pending international clearance. The move adds another young attacking option to Palace’s squad as the club prepares for the new Premier League season under head coach Pierre Sage.

Gozo came through the Real Salt Lake system after joining the club’s academy in 2021. BBC Sport reports that he made his Major League Soccer debut at 16 in October 2023. His form this year has drawn attention, with six goals and four assists in RSL’s first 16 league matches and a place in the season’s MLS All-Star Game.

The Utah-born player has also represented the United States at youth levels through under-23. Palace’s move for Gozo is the club’s sixth signing of the summer, following Oscar Mingueza, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Dwight McNeil, Evann Guessand and Anan Khalaili.

The transfer adds to a busy window for Palace as they prepare to begin their league campaign away to Everton. More broadly, the signing reflects the growing flow of young talent between Major League Soccer and the Premier League, although transfer fees and development pathways can vary widely from case to case.
