Paidha United Unveils 26-Man Squad, Targets Big League Return

What the report says
Paidha United has unveiled a 26-man squad for the 2026/2027 West Nile Regional League season and says its main goal is promotion back to the FUFA Big League. According to Nile Post, the club introduced 12 new signings and retained 14 players after recommendations from the technical team. The squad was presented on Friday at Bar Okoro ground in Paidha Town Council, Zombo District, in front of club officials, technical staff, fans and local leaders.
Club chief executive and public relations officer Levious Ofoymungu said the players had been entered into the FUFA registration system and were waiting for licences. The group includes two goalkeepers, nine defenders, seven midfielders and eight forwards. Among the new arrivals are Richard Rimorach and Derrick Sadeni from Padea Rising Stars, as well as Benjamin Opakrwoth and Ronald Bahati from local rivals Paidha Black Angels. Club chairman Robert Orombi urged unity across the team and management, while captain Ramadhan Nenungo said the club’s focus had shifted from last season’s relegation battle to chasing promotion.
Nega Abraham Ogusi has been appointed head coach. The report says he previously worked with Police FC’s 2005 Uganda Super League-winning setup, holds a CAF C Licence and has coached Paidha Black Angels and Nebbi Central FC. The club believes his experience can help steer the team toward the national second tier.
Paidha United is preparing for a competitive regional campaign after the West Nile league structure was consolidated. The club opens its season at home against Okokoro United on October 24.
