Paidha Black Angels Target Big League Title After Missing UPL Promotion

What the report says
Paidha Black Angels are entering the new FUFA Big League season with promotion as their main objective, according to Nile Post. The Zombo-based club says it wants an automatic return to the Uganda Premier League after missing out last season, and it has been working to improve its preparation before the competition begins next month.
Club chairman Kenneth Owachgiu said the team has tried to fix some of the issues that affected its previous promotion push, including long-standing financial pressure and the lack of club transport. He said the squad has been strengthened and that the club is also looking for ways to widen its revenue base through a fans’ registration and subscription drive.
Owachgiu appealed to sponsors, partners and other stakeholders to support the club as it chases top-flight football. John Rwothomio, chairman of the West Nile Region Football Association, also pointed to the wider funding difficulties facing clubs in the region, saying many depend heavily on gate collections that do not fully cover wages and operating costs.
Nile Post noted that Paidha Black Angels were relegated from the Uganda Premier League in 2019 after one season in the top division, and later returned to the Big League in the 2024/25 season. Their latest campaign will be watched closely as they seek to rebuild and compete for promotion again.
