What the report says

NBC Sports reported that the Green Bay Packers officially placed defensive end Micah Parsons on the physically unable to perform list on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. The move had been expected after Parsons was not included in the team’s first group of PUP designations, and it appeared on the NFL’s daily transaction report.

According to NBC Sports, Parsons was added to the list along with offensive tackle Brant Banks, long snapper Matt Orzech, defensive end Jordon Riley and defensive tackle Nazir Stackhouse. The Packers also signed kicker Lenny Krieg and tight end Thomas Yassmin, while waiving defensive tackle Dante Barnett and kicker Lucas Havrisik as part of the same day’s roster activity.

The report said Parsons is recovering from a torn ACL and is not expected back until October at the earliest. If Green Bay moves him to the reserve PUP list when rosters are trimmed to 53 players, he would have to miss at least the first four games. Players placed on injury lists during training camp can be activated before the regular season if they are medically cleared.

The development matters because Parsons’ availability could affect Green Bay’s defensive plans early in the season. NBC Sports also noted that the Packers had placed six other players on injury lists the previous day, underscoring that the club is managing multiple health-related roster situations as training camp begins.
