Packers place five on PUP with Micah Parsons expected to join the list Tuesday - NBC Sports
What the report says
NBCSports.com reported that the Green Bay Packers are beginning training camp with five players on the active/physically unable to perform list, while outside linebacker Micah Parsons is expected to be added Tuesday. The report, published July 27, 2026, said tight ends Tucker Kraft and Luke Musgrave, defensive tackle Javon Hargrave, offensive guard Aaron Banks and defensive back Kamal Hadden were placed on PUP.
Citing Matt Schneidman of The Athletic, NBCSports.com said Parsons’ absence from the initial PUP group was related to timing rather than a change in his recovery status. The report said Parsons has indicated he does not anticipate returning from a torn ACL before at least October. It also noted that his surgery took place Dec. 29 and that a later arthroscopic procedure on his meniscus pushed back his rehabilitation timeline.
The Packers also placed running back Chris Brooks on the non-football injury list, according to the report. Separately, defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt and right tackle Zach Tom were cleared to start camp. NBCSports.com said Wyatt had been recovering from a fractured left fibula and ankle ligament damage sustained on Thanksgiving Day, while Tom had offseason surgery for a partially torn patellar tendon.
The active/PUP designation allows players who are not ready at the start of camp to remain with the team while recovering, and they can be activated when medically cleared. The early injury designations matter because they shape Green Bay’s practice availability and depth evaluations as camp opens.
