Over 50 Nigerian Ahmadi Muslims join global Jalsa Salana UK 2026

Vanguard reported that more than 50 Nigerian members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat have travelled to the United Kingdom for the 2026 Jalsa Salana UK, the annual convention of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. The Nigerian delegation is led by the Amir, or National President, of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat of Nigeria, Barrister Alatoye Folorunso Azeez. The event is scheduled for July 24 to July 26 at Oakland Farm, Hadeeqatul Mahdi, in Surrey.

According to Vanguard, organisers expect the 60th edition of the three-day gathering to draw more than 50,000 participants from over 90 countries. The convention is presented as a forum for religious learning, peacebuilding, unity and mutual understanding across communities. The worldwide head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Khalifatul Masih V, is expected to deliver keynote addresses during the programme, focusing on Islamic teachings and contemporary global issues.

The report said parliamentarians, diplomats and civic leaders from different countries are also expected to address the convention. Proceedings will be broadcast on Muslim Television Ahmadiyya International, with rebroadcasts planned through international and local television stations. In Nigeria, Vanguard said WAP TV, MiTV and Tambarin TV Hausa will carry the event, while Nigerian-linked media organisations including NTA, Voice of Nigeria, TVC Communications, RFI Hausa Service, MiTV and Ben TV London have sent correspondents.

Vanguard cited a statement from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community saying the convention is intended to help participants increase their understanding of Islam and strengthen their relationship with Allah. The event can also be followed through the Jalsa Salana UK app and social media platforms.
