What the report says

Gematsu reported that Order of the Sinking Star, a narrative-focused puzzle adventure from publisher Arc Games and developer Thekla, is now also planned for PlayStation 5. The PS5 edition is scheduled to arrive in 2026 alongside the versions already announced for Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam. The update was presented with a PlayStation 5 announcement and extended overview trailer.

According to the publisher’s overview shared by Gematsu, the game is led by Jonathan Blow, known for Braid and The Witness. Arc Games describes it as a large-scale adventure built around more than 1,000 hand-crafted puzzles, with players entering a magical realm that includes dangerous machinery, hostile creatures and interlinked mysteries. The game is structured around four distinct worlds, each with its own rules, characters and puzzle systems.

The overview says players will be able to move through the worlds at their own pace, leave challenges and return later, and control multiple unusual heroes, including a queen, thief, warrior, wizard and talking boat. As characters and worlds begin to overlap, the game’s mechanics are described as combining in new ways, with story details revealed through play and collectible notes.

The announcement matters primarily for platform availability: PlayStation 5 owners are now included in the launch plans for a new project from Thekla, a studio associated with puzzle-heavy games. Beyond the platform addition and broad 2026 release window, Gematsu’s report does not provide a more specific release date, pricing details or information on physical editions.
