Onlysiima Beyond Modelling: Building a Career in Acting, Digital Media and Education

What the report says

Ugandan model, actress and media personality Siima Shamim, who goes by Onlysiima, is expanding her work beyond modelling while based in Toronto, Canada, according to Nile Post. The article says she is exploring opportunities in acting, digital media and content creation, while also continuing her education and planning a community-oriented initiative.

Nile Post reports that Onlysiima has modelled in both Uganda and Canada, including work linked to Crystal Models Africa and freelance opportunities through 6ix Element in Toronto. The piece also notes her involvement in film projects, including crew work on The Run and a supporting role in African Dream. It says her move into acting and film production reflects an effort to build a broader creative portfolio rather than rely on one profession.

The report adds that she is studying dental-related subjects in Toronto, showing how she is balancing academic goals with entertainment work. It also says she hopes to grow her online presence through fashion, lifestyle and entertainment content, and collaborate with brands and other creatives.

In addition, Onlysiima is developing Siima Foundation, a proposed initiative intended to support mothers and vulnerable families. Nile Post says the foundation is still in the registration stage. More broadly, the story presents her career as part of a wider trend of Ugandan creatives pursuing opportunities abroad while maintaining links to home.
