Screen Rant included a OneBGS statement posted on Bluesky saying Bethesda Montreal employees in Canada received termination letters on Friday, July 17, after earlier being told on Monday, July 6, that they would remain employed until September while severance was negotiated with the union. The union said the Canadian workers, described as part of Fallout and Elder Scrolls teams, were offered the legal minimum severance terms, including eight weeks of pay in lieu of notice and outstanding vacation pay, and would lose group health benefits immediately.

The report places the dispute within broader Microsoft layoffs, which Screen Rant says involved 3,200 positions.
