Nyakarahuka wins Longe Homecoming

What the report says
At the third edition of the Cfao Mobility and Afrisafe Insurance Brokers-sponsored Homecoming golf tournament, Mary Louise Simpkins Memorial Golf Club in Namulonge, Uganda drew a large field of players on Friday. The event took place on the club’s compact 9-hole, par-70 course, where many golfers returned to revisit the place where they first learned the game, according to The Independent Uganda.
Luke Nyakarahuka, playing off handicap 4, won the overall prize in his category with 35 points. In Division 1, Dr Williams Esuma finished runner-up on 35 points, while Michael Tumusiime placed third with 32 points. Other category winners included Kenneth Tumusiime in Division 2 with 40 points, Stephen Wanderema in Division 3 with 42 points, Prossy Zawedde in Ladies A with 31 points, Josephine Nakawunde in Ladies B with 41 points, and Kenneth Katarikawe among the seniors.
Cfao Mobility had offered a Suzuki Across and a Yamaha as prizes for any player who made a hole-in-one, but none of the participants achieved it. The tournament also included support from Nile Breweries and KaChina Logistics. Beyond the results, the event highlighted the club’s growth and the management’s plan to expand the facility from nine to 18 holes using available land, which would mark a significant upgrade for the local golf venue.
