Nsamba remanded to Luzira over Moses Matovu murder

Vincent Arnold Nsamba, 47, also known as Sitenda, has been charged in connection with the death of Ugandan musician Moses Matovu and was remanded to Luzira Upper Prison after appearing before the Makindye Chief Magistrate’s Court, according to Sqoop Uganda. The charge was read to him on Monday, but the court did not take the case to a full hearing because investigations are still underway.

Sqoop Uganda reported that prosecutors allege Nsamba punched Matovu during an early-morning confrontation in the Kibuli area on September 24, leading to injuries that later proved fatal. The report also says police reconstruction of the incident indicates Nsamba admitted striking Matovu, while maintaining that he did not intend to kill him.

The article says Rose Tumusiime, who was linked to the circumstances around the incident, was not charged at the hearing because her file was reportedly incomplete. Nsamba is expected back in court on November 3, 2026, for a mention of the matter as prosecutors continue their work.
