What the report says

The National Resistance Movement Parliamentary Caucus has been moved from Parliament to Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort Hotel for a meeting expected to include President Yoweri Museveni, who is also the party’s national chairman. Nile Post reported that the change was announced by Government Chief Whip Dr Ruth Aceng, who said the larger venue was needed to accommodate NRM MPs, NRM-leaning independent legislators and invited guests.

According to the report, the caucus is set to begin at midday and will include political discussions as well as a planned performance by singer Ray G. Dr Aceng said the venue change would allow the party to host all members comfortably and create room for entertainment alongside the formal meeting. She also indicated that Museveni would address lawmakers and interact with them during the gathering.

The meeting comes as the ruling party continues to organise its members ahead of government business and other parliamentary activities. Party officials said the agenda is expected to cover government programmes, party discipline and preparations for upcoming parliamentary work. Security was reported to have been increased around the hotel before the event.

The caucus is an important channel for NRM leadership to brief legislators and coordinate strategy in Parliament, so the move to Munyonyo reflects both logistical planning and the political significance of the session.
