Nigeria: Police Nab 4 Over Murder, Kidnapping in a/Ibom

Police in Akwa Ibom State, in southern Nigeria, say they have arrested four suspects in connection with a deadly armed robbery and kidnapping case in Ikot Itienang village, Etinan Local Government Area. Officials said the case stems from an incident in which one person was killed and another abducted near the Ekom Iman axis of Etinan.

During a search at one suspect’s home, officers said they recovered a locally made pistol, one cartridge, suspected cannabis, a red cap associated with a confraternity, and items described as possibly charms. The police said the arrests are part of a wider effort to dismantle violent criminal networks and urged residents to provide credible information that could help locate any fleeing suspects.
