Nigeria: Police Dismantle Bandit Camps in Kaduna

What the report says
Police in Kaduna State said they have dismantled two suspected bandit hideouts in Makarfi Local Government Area, according to Vanguard via AllAfrica. The operation was carried out by the Kaduna State Police Command with support from the Kaduna State Vigilance Service after community members shared intelligence about suspected bandit activity in the Durum and Danguzuri areas, near the border with Kano State.
The report said the joint security team conducted a clearance operation over the weekend and destroyed two structures believed to have been used to hold abducted victims. Those hideouts were identified in Rugar Mijin Goggo and Unguwar Maryamu, both in Danguzuri. Police said the action was part of wider efforts to restrict armed groups’ movement and improve safety for residents and property in the state.
The command said patrols were continuing in the area and that the situation had returned to normal, with the locality described as calm. Commissioner of Police Rabiu Muhammad praised the communities for providing information and commended security personnel for their response. He also urged residents to keep sharing timely and credible intelligence to support ongoing operations against banditry and other crimes. In a broader context, Kaduna has faced persistent insecurity linked to bandit attacks in recent years, making local intelligence and joint patrols central to security operations.
