What the report says

A Nigerian social media influencer known as “KC Luxury” has been arrested after authorities said they seized 184.5 kilograms of cocaine valued at nearly $28 million and intended for export to the UK. The case, reported by the Nile Post from material also carried by the BBC, centers on Afolabi Kazeem Micheal, who was detained in Lagos by Nigeria’s National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

According to the NDLEA, the drugs were discovered in brown boxes at a courier facility in Lagos on 3 August. Officials later arrested Micheal at Murtala Mohammed International Airport as he was preparing to fly to Paris. The agency said he was carrying cash in multiple currencies and expensive jewelry, which it described as consistent with the proceeds of illegal activity. Micheal has not publicly responded to the allegations and has not been charged in court, based on the reporting provided.

The NDLEA also detained a second suspect, Lawal Mujab Kehinde, whom it accused of helping package cocaine for export while working for a logistics company. Authorities said the network had used Nigeria as a transit point for drugs moving to Europe and Asia, and alleged that some suspected members abroad had already been arrested by partner agencies.

The case is significant because it highlights the role of international coordination in tackling cross-border drug trafficking and Nigeria’s continuing use as a transit hub in such cases, according to officials cited in the report.
