Nigeria: INEC to Display Voter Register, Distribute PVCs in 168 Taraba Wards

What the report says
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is set to begin displaying the National Register of Voters and distributing Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) across 168 registration areas in Taraba State, according to a report published by Premium Times and distributed by AllAfrica. The one-week exercise is scheduled to start on Friday and run until 16 October.
INEC said the process will give registered voters a chance to confirm that their details were correctly captured, collect available PVCs, and submit claims or objections if they find errors in the register. The commission said the exercise will run daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is being organized through its state office in Jalingo.
The report said the display covers voters who registered, transferred their registration, or requested replacement cards between August and December 2025 under the first phase of the Continuous Voter Registration exercise. INEC also noted that not all PVCs may be ready immediately, with additional cards to be sent later from its headquarters in Abuja.
PVC collection will continue after the display period ends, through INEC offices in local government areas. The commission urged voters, community leaders, political parties and civil society groups to encourage eligible residents to verify their records ahead of future elections.
