What the report says

Aliko Dangote, president and chief executive of Dangote Industries Limited, has praised the Nigerian federal government’s ongoing economic reforms, saying they are helping reposition the country for growth and improving investor confidence. In remarks carried by Daily Trust and distributed by AllAfrica, Dangote said fiscal, monetary and regulatory changes were starting to support greater macroeconomic stability, higher productivity and a more resilient business environment.

The comments were published on 3 September 2026 from Abuja, with the report noting that Dangote linked the policy shift to stronger business confidence and renewed interest in Nigeria as an investment destination. He said the reforms were especially important for large-scale manufacturing and other industrial sectors, which he described as central to diversification, job creation, foreign exchange earnings and competitiveness.

Dangote also pointed to the operating environment for the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals complex, which he described as Africa’s largest integrated refining and petrochemical facility. He said policies supporting local refining, reduced import dependence, energy security and value addition were helping the project contribute to exports, supply chains and industrial development. More broadly, the report presents the remarks as an endorsement of policy consistency and public-private cooperation, both of which he said could help attract more foreign direct investment and strengthen Nigeria’s long-term economic outlook.
