The council also said it has begun radio sensitisation and outreach to inform residents about symptoms, prevention and when to seek care. Diphtheria is a vaccine-preventable bacterial disease that spreads through close contact and respiratory droplets, and health workers have urged parents to keep children’s vaccinations up to date.
