Nigeria: Daba, Coronation Open Nigerian Market Access to Global Investors

What the report says
Daba Finance and Coronation have agreed a distribution partnership aimed at giving eligible investors outside Nigeria digital access to Nigerian capital-market products. According to AllAfrica’s report, the deal was announced on September 2 in Lagos and Miami and is designed to combine Daba’s online platform and international reach with Coronation’s local brokerage, asset-management and research capabilities.
The arrangement covers market intelligence, investor education and digital access. Investors who qualify under the rules of their own jurisdictions will be able to use the Daba platform, while Coronation Securities and Coronation Asset Management provide the underlying services within Nigeria’s regulated market. The companies also plan to offer educational content through Daba Academy and Coronation Investment Academy, including webinars and courses focused on Nigerian securities, market structure and related risks.
The launch comes as Nigerian equities have been performing strongly in 2026 and as the country prepares to return to FTSE Russell’s Frontier Market index universe later in September. AllAfrica reported that the Nigerian Exchange All-Share Index rose sharply by the end of August, while foreign participation in trading remained much smaller than domestic activity. The partnership appears intended to address that gap by making it easier for offshore investors to follow and access Nigerian assets without moving regulated market functions outside Nigeria.
More broadly, the report places the deal in the context of improving foreign-exchange liquidity, repatriation conditions and market access. Daba said it already serves customers across multiple regions, and Coronation’s regulated entities are registered with Nigerian authorities.
