Nigeria: Adesina, Sanusi, Otti to Lead African Prosperity Talks

What the report says
Prominent African figures including former African Development Bank president Akinwumi Adesina, Kano’s Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II and Abia State Governor Alex Otti are expected in Abuja on Nov. 3 for a conference on Africa’s economic future, according to Vanguard’s report distributed by AllAfrica. The event is the second edition of the Oxford Global Think Tank Leadership Conference and will be held at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton Hotel.
The organisers say the gathering will bring together leaders from government, business, technology, finance and civil society to examine how stronger institutions, investment and innovation can support a more prosperous, resilient and inclusive African economy. The theme is “Leadership for a Prosperous Future,” and the agenda is said to include resilience, innovation and dynamism.
Adesina is scheduled to give the keynote address, while Sanusi and Atedo Peterside will co-chair the conference. Other expected participants include Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy Minister Bosun Tijani, Women Affairs Minister Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, Afreximbank executive vice president Kanayo Awani, SEC director-general Emomotimi Agama and Flutterwave chief executive Gbenga Agboola.
The programme will also touch on artificial intelligence, with plans to unveil an AI report and launch an AI Virtual Centre. The organisers say the meeting is intended to move beyond broad discussion toward practical partnerships and policy ideas that could help improve productivity, expand opportunity and support long-term growth across the continent.
