Newport sign Dibley-Dias on loan from Fulham

What the report says
Newport County have added midfielder Matt Dibley-Dias on a short-term loan from Fulham, taking their summer recruitment to 11 signings. The move was reported by BBC Sport Football and gives head coach Hayden Mullins another option in midfield as the League Two club continue to strengthen after a positive start to the season.
Dibley-Dias, 22, is no stranger to Mullins, having played under him at Fulham’s under-21 level. BBC Sport Football said he made 31 appearances across two seasons for that side and was part of the group that won the Premier League Cup in 2023-24. He joined Fulham as a teenager, signed his first professional deal in 2021 and has been regarded as a promising academy player.
The midfielder’s recent experience has come through a series of loans. BBC Sport Football reported spells at Chesterfield, Braintree Town and Northampton Town, with the player gaining senior football across League Two and the National League. His arrival comes alongside other Newport midfield additions this summer, including Harrison Biggins and Kieron Evans.
If selected, Dibley-Dias could make his Newport debut against Tranmere Rovers at Rodney Parade. More broadly, the signing reflects Newport’s push to add depth and competition as they look to build momentum in League Two.
